Welcome! Video Games are fun to play! They are even more fun to create! Whether your students aspire to one day work in the video game development industry as an artist, programmer or independent game designer or want to make games just for fun – get them started designing and programming aMazing games!

The course is divided into modules that include Theory, Practical Study and Directed Study. There is also a supplemental section with further links and resources. It is not required to proceed Module by Module. In fact, it would be better to balance your learning and study by delving into the theory while you also follow lessons in the Practical modules.
Module I Theory
MODULE I: In this module you will have directed links to various articles and websites. These will demonstrate some of the benefits and philosophical ideas of teaching video game design in the early grades, as well as provide discussions for game based learning theories.

Module 2 Practical
MODULE II: In this module you will get started creating games with Gamemaker. Gamemaker software is available for free from Yoyogames. Download the current Lite or Standard Version.

MODULE III: In this module you will create a Platform style game with some special features. There will also be a section on Troubleshooting games.
